Bakery

Heidi founded Berries and Flour as the synergy of all of these passions for her: culinary skills, ecology of native landscapes, growing of plants, foraging for wild foods, and teaching people about the plentiful Midwest land. Starting this bakery ties these many skills together into a delicious box that others can easily share.

American Plum

Berries and Flour products are made by hand with as many local, freshly-harvested ingredients as possible. We try to use mostly sustainably-produced crops from farmers we can talk to. Our own produce is produced organically, though our farm is not certified.

We also think about the nutrition of our cakes. We use fresh produce that is minimally processed to stay high in fiber and natural sugars, local, King Arthur, and Bob's flours, and natural extracts and colorings. We also bake with lower sugar, and leave cakes naked with only a flourish of frosting or glaze to let the unique flavors shine through.

​We are a very small business and require about 8 days to process, schedule, and make your order. We may be able to make things sooner, but please communicate with us before you place an order.

Our Food

Every cake we produce features at least one locally-grown fruit, vegetable, grain, edible flower, or wild crop. Available in various sizes to suit any occasion!

Wild Cake Club

Once a month you can select one of our 4-6 monthly featured specialty cakes in either a 6" round cake, six small square cakes, or six cupcakes.

Special Occasion Cakes

In addition to our many semi-custom, seasonal, and specialty cakes, we offer cakes for weddings, baby showers, birthdays, and other special occasions. Contact Heidi to learn more!
